From 16th to 20th May, the Primary Section organized the first math week, the theme of which is ‘Math and Play equals to Wisdom and Fun’. The whole math week is divided into math knowledge competition and math games. To be concrete, according to the age characteristics of the students, the teachers of the math group divided the math knowledge competition into three groups: students in the junior grade group participated in the fast arithmetic star competition; Students in the middle grade group competed in the 24-point master competition and students in the senior grade group had a basic knowledge talent competition. Additionally, the math games were carried out in two groups: junior grade - Hannott Tower and Huarong Road while middle and senior grade students play rubik's cube and backgammon.
In summary, this mathematics week activity created a good campus scientific and cultural atmosphere, displayed the charm of mathematics culture, further improved students' interest in learning mathematics, and enhanced their confidence in learning mathematics. Moreover, in the vivid and lively mathematics activities, students learned how to learn mathematics, apply mathematics, and play maths games.
